AID TO THE CHURCH IN NEED IS A PONTIFICAL FOUNDATION OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, SUPPORTING THE CATHOLIC FAITHFUL AND OTHER CHRISTIANS WHERE THEY ARE PERSECUTED, OPPRESSED OR IN PASTORAL NEED. Last year we supported more than 5,000 projects in more than 130 countries around the world, helping to support the Church in its mission, and bringing hope and solidarity to millions of people. We support important projects which are undertaken by the local Church in the countries where we provide aid, all thanks to private donations as the charity receives no public funding. From building churches, to distributing catechetical books, to providing emergency aid, our projects, whether large or small, cover a whole range of initiatives to help nurture the Faith internationally and support persecuted and suffering Christians wherever they are in need.
