The need for aid for the Church of Ukraine was still enormous during the third year of the war. In 2024 alone, we financed 312 projects totalling 8.4 million euros. With the war devastating the energy infrastructure in many areas, heating projects and the acquisition of generators and heat pumps became top priorities. At the same time, supporting priests and religious was crucial, as they remained steadfast with their faithful amid the chaos of war, often facing hardship themselves, both materially and emotionally. Ukrainians have now fled abroad, while a further 4 million are internally displaced within the country. Both the Roman Catholic and Greek Catholic Churches continued to tirelessly support the suffering population during the reporting year. From the start of the war in February 2022 until the end of 2024, ACN has supported the Catholic Church of both rites with altogether 967 projects totalling 25.2 million euros.
