Vital help for Christians in Dwel’a

Young people playing music at a pastoral summer camp.

The parish in Dwel’a is looked after by Father Basilios Gergeos and two other priests. Among other initiatives, ACN supports a psychiatric day clinic, summer camps, scout activities and a kindergarten within the parish. We also provide financial support for a soup kitchen and for the monthly distribution of milk to poor families whose children frequently suffer from stunted

growth due to malnutrition. Father Gergeos wrote us the following words: “Without you, we cannot be as close to the people as we would like. You help us to serve the people. All of these schemes show the families that the Church cares for them and is here to help. The projects play a major part in determining whether they remain in Syria.”
