to-reach areas affected by summer droughts and flooding during the rainy season. The distances are immense. This is also the case in Añatuya, one of the poorest dioceses in Argentina, which is around 1,000 kilometres from the capital Buenos Aires. With an area of 68,000 square kilometres, the diocese is almost as large as Ireland, but only has 200,000 inhabitants. The roads are extremely poor, and the population has minimal access to education and medical care. Unemployment

and broken families are widespread. 81 religious from various communities and seven lay missionaries are active here. Some operate homes for the elderly and orphanages, run soup kitchens or provide care for disabled people. Others serve in parishes without a priest, helping families to strengthen their faith. ACN was able to support them in 2024 with subsistence aid.

Diocese of Rawson in Patagonia, a vast and very poor missionary area. Here we assisted priests through Mass stipends and supported religious with subsistence aid. The Church also has a major problem with mobility in many places. With no public transport in remote areas, parishes rely on vehicles and fuel subsidies to provide pastoral care to the faithful. Our foundation also provided financial support to this end.
